    Father arrested after beating drunk daughter to death in Kisii County

    A man was arrested for murder after his daughter succumbed to injuries she sustained while being beaten in a village in Kerina, Kisii County.

    The incident happened in Bokoma village on June 24. The girl aged 17 had arrived home from her school in Moi Girls Sindo, Homabay County on June 22 for half term when the incident happened.

    He is said to have confronted and beat her up over claims she was drunk before she fell unconscious. She was later rushed to a local hospital, where she succumbed to the injuries.

    The man told doctors he was disciplining her. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. The body had visible injuries on the thigh, buttocks, left wrist, right leg and blood was oozing from the nose.

    It was then that the police were informed of the incident and arrested the man for investigation and arraignment for murder. The body was preserved at a local mortuary pending autopsy.

    Elsewhere in Embali, Vihiga County a body of a man was found on the roadside after a suspected murder. The victim was later identified as Jonathan Eba, 33 who was a bodaboda operator in the area.

    The body had visible cuts on the eye and face when it was discovered. His motorcycle was missing at the scene and it is believed the assailants were targeting it.

    In Olengo, Siaya County, two young siblings were found murdered in their grandmother’s house. The two, aged ten and five are believed to have been strangled in their house. Police said the bodies had strangulation marks in the necks.

    Their mother was not at home when the incident happened, police said. The woman was arrested for grilling. She told police she had locked the two in the house and left for a meeting in the area on Tuesday night only to come back and find the lifeless bodies in the house.

    The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

    In Nyakianga area, Muranga County, one Joseph Mwangi, 19 was attacked and killed at a funeral event for unknown reasons.

    Police said they visited the scene and recovered two sticks suspected to be killer weapons and a shoe suspected to belong to the deceased.

    Two suspects were arrested and are helping in the investigations, police said.

    In Nanyuki, Laikipia County, the body of a man was found on the roadside after a suspected murder. Police said the victim was killed elsewhere and the body was dumped at the site.

    The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police said.
