Four street urchins are still missing days after being dumped in Chemususu Forest in Baringo.

The four aged between 12 and 20, were among 41 street children reported to have been ferried by the County Government of Nakuru and dumped in the forest at night.

The children were rescued and handed over to the county government of Nakuru after public uproar on social media.

Residents who rescued the children revealed to a local daily that they are yet to receive information on the whereabouts of the four.

They have however vowed to stay on the look out and give information if they spot them.

“The local community is on the lookout and will give information if they are spotted,” said said Kiragu.

21 among those rescued have since found a home at former NACADA boss John Mututho for rehabilitation.

Following the incident, Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui has been on the receiving end after locals, activist groups and residents demanded that he come clean on the issue.

According to Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, the governor was aware of the inhuman plan.

However, the Governor has since dismissed the accusations saying dumping of street children was wrong.

The county government further revealed that it had launched investigations into the unfortunate incident.

Consequently, unconfirmed reports have it that two enforcement teams alleged to have been involved in the dumping have been transferred to other regions within the county.
