Drama ensued at Kirinyaga County Hospital mortuary after four women turned up to claim the body of a deceased boda boda rider.
Reports indicate that each of the four women claimed 32 year-old Peter Mwangi Gichobi, who died on April 28 in a road accident in Nyangati-Embu road, sired children with them.
However, sources familiar with the incident claim neither of the women lived with the departed.
The angry women failed to agree on who to sign a burial permit, leading to a fierce scuffle.
It took the intervention of elders and police to contain the situation.
However, the women couldn’t allow any of them to sign the crucial document, prompting Mwangi’s kinsmen to intervene, authorising the release of the body.
Thereafter, the four allowed the deceased’s uncle, Stanley Ngigi, to bury Mwangi at his home in Ngomongo village, Kirinyaga County, after intense deliberations.
The family promised the four women equal share of Mwangi’s wealth; to help raise their children.
