Garrett Clayton, born Gary Michael Clayton on March 19, 1991, in Dearborn, Michigan, is an American actor, singer, and dancer.
Known for his charming looks and versatile talent, Clayton rose to prominence with his role as Tanner in Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie (2013) and its sequel Teen Beach 2 (2015).
With Lebanese heritage and a background in musical theater, he began his journey in the spotlight at Crestwood High School, later honing his skills at Oakland University.
Beyond his Disney fame, Clayton has taken on diverse roles in film, television, and stage productions, establishing himself as a multifaceted performer.
In 2018, he publicly came out as gay, sharing that he has been in a long-term relationship with screenwriter Blake Knight, whom he married in September 2021.

Career
Garrett’s career kicked off in 2008 with a small role in the horror film The Tower, marking his entry into the industry.
His early television appearances included guest spots on Days of Our Lives and Disney Channel’s Shake It Up in 2010.
However, it was his starring role as Tanner in Teen Beach Movie that catapulted him to fame, showcasing his singing and dancing abilities alongside co-stars like Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell.
The success of the film led to its 2015 sequel, further solidifying his status as a Disney star.
Transitioning from teen roles, Clayton took on more mature projects, including a recurring role as Chase Dillon in the family drama The Fosters (2013-2018).
In 2016, he portrayed gay adult film star Brent Corrigan in King Cobra, earning praise for his dramatic depth opposite James Franco and Christian Slater.
That same year, he played Link Larkin in NBC’s Hairspray Live!, blending his musical theater roots with a live television audience.
