Kiambu County Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba has apparently been receiving threats to her life, she told journalists on Wednesday.
The MP noted that she has reported the matter to the police. She also accused Governor Ferdinand Waititu of belittling her and other county leaders.
This comes a day after Deputy Governor James Nyoro accused Waititu alias Baba Yao of highhandedness and threatening county executives.
He also accused Baba Yao of frustrating him in a bid to get him to resign. The governor he says had people pour water in his office forcing him to work from a corridor.
But the county boss dismissed the claims and further insinuated that Nyoro’s academic credentials were not genuine.
“People have been lying but I will tell the truth. Let them show their doctorate degrees if they have studied that far,” he said.

Kiambu leaders have been trading accusations over the past few weeks, with the Woman Rep saying that the governor’s decision to pay reforming alcoholics Sh.400 per day was ill-informed.
Speaking to a local daily, former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo told the leaders to focus on service delivery and stay away from cheap politics.
“People want good leadership, service delivery and peace.”
