Kenyan Premier League Super Cup will be played on 1 December 2018 and not on 2 December 2018 as was earlier scheduled.

The new season (2018-19) curtain raiser will be contested between the league champions Gor Mahia and SportPesa Shield winners Kariobangi Sharks.

Gor, who are the cup holders requested for the change of date to give them enough traveling time to Blantyre, Malawi for their CAF Champions League return leg match against Nyasa Big Bullets.

“We will be having the return leg against Nyasa Big Bullets on the 4th of December and there was need to present our request to Football Kenya Federation to have the Super Cup match which was planned for 2nd December be rescheduled.”

“We are happy that our request has been considered and the match will now be played on the Saturday 1st of December at Kasarani stadium,” the club’s CEO Lordvick Aduda said.

Gor will host Nyasa on 27/28 November 2018 before traveling for the second leg on 4/5 December 2018 in Blantyre.

Sharks, who will be representing Kenya for the first time in the CAF Confederation Cup will face Arta Solar of Djibouti during the same period.
