Governor of Imo state in Nigeria, Rochas Okorocha, has created uproar by appointing his biological sister Ms Ogechi Ololo (nee Okorocha) to be commissioner for ‘happiness and couples’ fulfillment.

The governor while swearing-in the newly appointed commissioners at the Imo International Conference Center urged the commissioners to leave a mark in their respective positions and also at the local government.

“At this moment, I charge you all to be good ambassadors of the Rescue Mission wherever you find yourselves,” he told them in his address.

Many have taken to social media to register bewilderment at the Governot’s impetus to create such a ministry just to reward kin.

He also told them that it would not be business as usual and that they should not engage in corrupt activities or laziness during their tenure as commissioners.

“You are the privileged group that has the opportunity to make names for yourselves. I want to remind all of you that this appointment is not business as usual.

“We shall not tolerate any sharp practice or corruption of any type. Neither shall we accept indolence or laziness. You have been called to duty to help us to achieve our vision in the Rescue Mission Project,” he said to the commissioners.

This call for them not to be corrupt is ironical because he created a non existent ministry for his biological sister.
