How to Add a Family Member to Apple Music

Apple Music’s Family plan allows multiple people to enjoy their own personal music libraries, playlists, and recommendations under a single subscription. To add someone, you must first set up or use Apple’s Family Sharing feature. Learning how to add a family member to Apple Music helps you share your subscription while allowing each person to maintain their own account and listening experience.

  1. Set Up Family Sharing

Before adding family members to Apple Music, make sure Family Sharing is enabled on your Apple account.

The family organizer manages invitations and subscriptions.

  1. Add a Family Member

Within Family Sharing, you can invite family members using their Apple account information.

They will receive an invitation to join your family group.

  1. Ask the Family Member to Accept the Invitation

The invited person must accept the Family Sharing invitation before they can access shared services.

Once accepted, they become part of the family group.

  1. Confirm the Apple Music Family Plan

Make sure your Apple Music subscription is the Family plan and not an Individual plan.

Family members can only access Apple Music through an eligible family subscription.

After joining the family group, the new member can open Apple Music and start using the service.

Each person will have their own library, recommendations, and playlists.

You can review and manage family members through the Family Sharing settings at any time.

This allows you to add or remove members as necessary.
