Linking your FNB (First National Bank) account to PayPal allows you to send and receive international payments seamlessly. Since FNB is the official PayPal banking partner in South Africa, it provides a secure and efficient way to withdraw PayPal funds directly into your bank account. To complete this process, you need an FNB Online Banking profile and a verified PayPal account. Here is how to link FNB account to PayPal.

    1. Create a PayPal Account

Before linking your FNB account, you must have a verified PayPal account.

    • Go to the PayPal website (www.paypal.com) or download the PayPal mobile app
    • Click on Sign Up and choose either a Personal or Business account
    • Enter your details, including name, email, and password
    • Verify your email by clicking the confirmation link sent to your inbox
    • Add your FNB bank card or credit card to PayPal for making payments

Once your PayPal account is set up, you can proceed with linking it to FNB.

    1. Register for FNB Online Banking

To withdraw money from PayPal, you need an FNB Online Banking profile, even if you bank with another institution.

    • Visit the FNB website (www.fnb.co.za)
    • Click on Register if you do not already have an account
    • Enter your FNB card details, ID number, and other required information
    • Follow the prompts to create a secure username and password
    • Log in to confirm that your account is active

If you are a non-FNB customer, you can still register for an FNB PayPal profile to link your external bank account to PayPal.

    1. Link Your PayPal Account to FNB

Once your FNB online banking profile is set up, you can now link it to PayPal.

    • Log in to FNB Online Banking
    • Click on Forex > PayPal Services
    • Select Link PayPal Profile
    • Enter your PayPal email address and follow the prompts
    • Confirm the link by verifying your PayPal account through an email confirmation

After completing this process, FNB will be able to process PayPal withdrawals on your behalf.

    1. Verify Your PayPal Account

For security reasons, PayPal may require you to verify your account before allowing withdrawals. This typically involves linking a debit or credit card and confirming a small transaction.

    • Log in to PayPal
    • Click on Wallet and select Link a Card
    • Enter your FNB debit or credit card details
    • PayPal will deduct a small amount and provide a verification code
    • Check your FNB transaction history to find the code
    • Enter the verification code in PayPal to complete the process

Once verified, you can start using PayPal for online payments and withdrawals.

    1. Withdraw Money from PayPal to FNB

To withdraw your PayPal funds into your FNB account, follow these steps:

    • Log in to FNB Online Banking
    • Click on Forex > PayPal Services
    • Select Withdraw from PayPal
    • Enter the amount you wish to withdraw
    • Choose your FNB account as the receiving bank
    • Review the exchange rate and fees, then confirm the transaction

PayPal withdrawals typically take 3 to 5 business days to reflect in your FNB account.

    1. Use Your FNB Card for PayPal Transactions

If you want to make payments using PayPal, you can link your FNB debit or credit card to your PayPal account.

    • Log in to PayPal
    • Click on Wallet > Link a Card
    • Enter your FNB card details
    • Follow the verification process

This will allow you to pay for online purchases, subscriptions, and international services directly from your FNB account using PayPal.
