Inspector-General of Police Douglas Kanja has established five new police posts and one police station across the country, according to a Kenya Gazette notice.
The new Kamuguga Police Station will serve residents in Kiambu County, while the other locations will have police posts to enhance law enforcement services.
In Nyanza, Kisumu will get Otonglo Police Post and Migori will have Mabera Police Post. In the North Eastern region, Wajir will host Lagbogol Police Post. Rift Valley will see Gataka Police Post, and the Eastern region will have Thuura Police Post.
The establishments were made under the powers granted to the Inspector-General by Section 40(1) of the National Police Service Act.
Officials say the new police stations and posts are part of the government’s effort to improve security and policing services in underserved areas.
