A Kenya Rugby Sevens player on Monday morning died during a solo routine swimming exercise at the Impala Club, Nairobi.
Richard Sidindi Otieno was a rugby player for the Impala Saracens and has been a member since 2011.
“It is with the saddest regret that the Kenya Rugby fraternity and Impala Saracens Rugby Family announces the sudden death of Richard Sidindi Otieno an astute Impala Saracens Rugby Team member since 2011,” the team’s secretary general Charles Mbogo said in a statement.

The deceased is a former student of Maseno University and St Mary’s Yala.
He is survived by a wife, Catherine and daughter Candace.
