Instagram users can now go down memory lane. The App now has a Story Archive feature that allows its users save their stories after the 24 hour window lapses.
Only the user can access the archived posts. The best part is that one does not have to save the posts in their phones.
Those who want their stories to disappear after 24 hours can turn off the feature by clicking the clock icon on the top right corner of the App.
Also unveiled today is the Story Highlights feature. It allows users put on view their favorite archived stories on their profile. Highlights can be saved into individual story reels that appear as circles on ones profile.
Both updates roll out on Wednesday on both Android and IOS apps.
According to TNW, also in the works is a ‘Share To WhatsApp’ feature. Should it go through, users will be able to share posts or profiles with friends on WhatsApp like they have been doing on Facebook.

GIF Search for Stories is apparently also being tested. Users will search for and add GIFs to their Stories or posts.
