Izzy Stradlin is an American rock musician with an estimated net worth of $20 million. He is best known as a founding member, rhythm guitarist, and primary songwriter of the legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses, one of the most successful and influential bands in music history.

Stradlin played a key role in shaping the sound and success of Guns N’ Roses during their peak years in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He co-wrote many of the band’s biggest hits, helping their debut album Appetite for Destruction sell more than 25 million copies worldwide. The band later made history by holding the No. 1 and No. 2 positions on the Billboard 200 simultaneously with Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II.

Despite massive commercial success, Stradlin left Guns N’ Roses in 1991 to focus on sobriety and pursue a quieter, more independent musical path. His songwriting royalties, solo career, and continued influence in rock music have contributed significantly to his long-term wealth.

    Early Life

Izzy Stradlin was born Jeffrey Dean Isbell on April 8, 1962, in Lafayette, Indiana. He was raised by his mother after his parents divorced when he was young. Growing up, he was influenced by artists such as Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, and Alice Cooper.

Stradlin initially learned to play drums before switching to guitar. After graduating from high school in 1980, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a music career.

    Music Career

In the early 1980s, Stradlin reunited with his high school friend Axl Rose to form the band Hollywood Rose. After several lineup changes, the group evolved into Guns N’ Roses in 1985, alongside Slash, Duff McKagan, and Steven Adler.

The band released Appetite for Destruction in 1987, featuring classic songs co-written by Stradlin such as “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Paradise City,” and “Welcome to the Jungle.” He also wrote “Patience,” “Don’t Cry,” and “You Could Be Mine.”

As fame grew, internal conflicts and substance abuse strained relationships within the band. Stradlin ultimately left in 1991, just as Guns N’ Roses reached peak global fame.

    Solo Career

After leaving Guns N’ Roses, Stradlin formed Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds, releasing a self-titled album in 1992 and touring internationally. He later launched a solo career, releasing multiple albums including 117°, Ride On, River, On Down the Road, and Like a Dog.

Unlike many of his former bandmates, Stradlin chose to stay largely out of the spotlight, focusing on creative freedom rather than commercial pressure.

    Personal Life

Izzy Stradlin married Swedish biologist and environmentalist Annica Kreuter in 1995. He has invested in real estate over the years, including properties in Ojai, California, where he owns a home valued at over $1 million.
