Citizen TV anchor Jacque Wanjiru Maribe has been arrested.
Ms Maribe has been apprehended in connection to the gruesome murder of 28 year old Monica Kimani who was laid to rest on Friday in Gilgil.
Confirming the arrest was Gigiri Police boss Richard Mugwai. The journo has been taken to the station.
According to officers privy to the information, there is enough evidence to charge her on Monday when she will be arraigned in court.
“We have sufficient evidence to charge her,” DCI George Kinoti told Capital FM.
Her neighbours and domestic worker, sources say have been very helpful to the on-going investigation.
It has also been said that police have recovered from Maribe’s apartment a pistol and some money believed to have been taken from the deceased’s apartment on Dennis Pritt road on the day she was murdered.
Ms Maribe spent a better part of Saturday at the DCI offices but has been taken because “her statements are not adding up.”
Her fiance, Joe Irungu is the prime suspect in the murder and is being held at Muthaiga Police station as the DCI wraps up investigations.
