Jason Zucker is a seasoned American professional ice hockey winger currently playing for the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League.
Born on January 16, 1992, in Newport Beach, California, and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, he became one of the first notable NHL players to emerge from the Las Vegas desert.
Zucker is recognized for his explosive speed, a tenacious forechecking style, and a high-volume shooting mentality that has made him a consistent scoring threat throughout his career.

Career
Zucker’s path to the NHL was paved through the United States National Team Development Program and a stellar collegiate career at the University of Denver.
He was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the second round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and made his professional debut during the 2011-2012 season.

Zucker spent the early years of his career establishing himself as a core offensive player for the Wild, peaking during the 2017-2018 season when he scored a career-high 33 goals and 64 points.
His tenure in Minnesota lasted nearly a decade, during which he became a fan favorite for his work rate and community involvement.
In early 2020, Zucker was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins to provide veteran scoring support alongside Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
While his time in Pittsburgh was occasionally hampered by injuries, he remained a vital “glue” player and experienced a significant resurgence in the 2022-2023 season, netting 27 goals and proving he could still compete at an elite level.
Following a brief stint with the Arizona Coyotes and the Nashville Predators during the 2023-2024 season, Zucker signed with the Buffalo Sabres.
Now in the 2025-2026 season at age 34, Zucker has become a vital veteran presence for a young Sabres roster.
He continues to defy the typical aging curve, regularly featuring on the second line and the top power-play unit.
Through 62 games this season, he has recorded 24 goals and 21 assists, leading the team in game-winning goals and providing the steady leadership necessary for a playoff push.
Accolades
Internationally, Zucker is a decorated representative of Team USA, having won three consecutive gold medals: two at the IIHF World U18 Championships (2009, 2010) and one at the 2010 World Junior Championships.
In 2011, he added a bronze medal to his collection at the World Juniors.
In the NHL, his most significant individual honor came in 2019 when he was awarded the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which recognizes the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to his community.
This award specifically honored his “Give 16” campaign, which raised substantial funds for the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.
Additionally, Zucker was named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team and was the WCHA Rookie of the Year during his time at the University of Denver.
