Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes, known professionally as Joe Anders, is an American-British actor and musician born on December 22, 2003, in New York City.
He is the son of renowned actress Kate Winslet and acclaimed film director Sam Mendes.
Growing up between New York City and England, Joe was raised in a family deeply rooted in the arts, with both parents being prominent figures in the entertainment industry.
His parents divorced in 2010 when he was six years old, and he has since lived primarily in West Wittering, Sussex, with his mother and siblings.

Career
Anders began his acting career at the age of 15 with a small role as Private Willock in the 2019 war drama 1917, directed by his father, Sam Mendes, where he was credited as Joe Mendes.
In 2022, he adopted the stage name Joe Anders and appeared in the Channel 4 television film I Am Ruth, playing the son of his mother’s character alongside his half-sister Mia Threapleton.
The same year, he took on a supporting role as an American soldier in the biographical war drama Lee (2023).
His first leading role came in the musical coming-of-age romantic comedy Bonus Track (2023), directed by Julia Jackman, where he played George Bobbin.
