Renowned Kenyan journalist Flora Limukii has officially stepped down from her role at CNBC Africa, marking the end of her career in mainstream media.

In a statement, Limukii announced her departure, reflecting on her six-year journey in journalism and hinting at a transition to a new career, though she did not reveal specific details.

“Today marks my last day in the newsroom! Nostalgic. Six years down the line! KBC, Tuko, Opera News, Switch TV, TV47, and CNBC Africa. It’s time to shift from the newsroom to the boardroom! It’s been quite a nice ride! Time now for a new challenge,” she stated.

Limukii had been working as a TV presenter and producer at CNBC Africa’s Kigali bureau since late 2023, focusing on business and developmental stories aimed at amplifying African narratives on a global scale. In addition to her television roles, she has also contributed as a writer for Forbes Africa, showcasing her storytelling expertise.

During her time at CNBC Africa, Limukii gained widespread recognition for her ability to craft compelling narratives, particularly on underreported issues. She was known for producing impactful stories that not only informed but also influenced public discourse.

Before joining CNBC Africa, Limukii worked at TV47 as a news anchor and political reporter, where her engaging presentation and in-depth reporting earned her a strong following. Her career in journalism began in 2019 with content creation at Tuko.co.ke and a stint at the national broadcaster, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), after completing her studies at the University of Nairobi.

She holds a degree in Journalism and Media Studies with a specialization in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Nairobi. Additionally, she has a German B2 Level certification from Goethe Institute, demonstrating proficiency in both written and spoken German.
