Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho is facing a new battle after members of parliament and ward representatives from the Jubilee party vowed to form a parallel County Executive Committee to oversee the county government operations.
The committee will be headed by Abdulsalaam Kassim and will be deputized by Said Mathias.
However NASA leader Raila Odinga said that Joho was among the most courageous leaders in the opposition.
He said that he has been the governor’s political mentor since his days as Member of parliament for Kisauni.

The parallel cabinet claims that the Sultan has been lenient with his county officers as there hasn’t been an oversight division.
They have however vowed to keep the Governor in check and make sure that his second term is different.
