Political activist Kasmuel McOure has secured a role within the Ministry of Cooperatives in a move aimed at strengthening youth participation in government economic empowerment programmes.
The development was announced on Thursday, December 18, by Cooperative Principal Secretary Susan Mang’eni, who said the ministry is exploring a partnership with McOure to help young people access government opportunities more easily.
According to the PS, the collaboration will focus on ensuring that youths receive timely information, opportunities, and tools to support their economic growth.
“To expand the reach and impact of our State Department, we look forward to working with Kasmuel McOure, the convener of the Broad-Based Youth Front,” Mang’eni said.
She added that the partnership will help deepen youth awareness and uptake of key government programmes such as the Hustler Fund and the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) programme.
McOure said his involvement will be driven through the Broad-Based Youth Front, an initiative he recently launched to link young people to opportunities within government.
“Our focus is to connect young people to timely information, enterprise support, and tools available under the State Department for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs),” he said.
The announcement comes barely a week after McOure launched the Broad-Based Youth Front, which aims to promote youth interests within President William Ruto’s administration.
