Kenya Airways Sunday cancelled its New York flights following a blizzard warning and severe winter weather conditions affecting parts of the United States.

The airline said heavy snowfall in New York has significantly disrupted operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), with airport authorities suspending flight operations for specific periods effective Sunday, February 22, 2026.

In a statement, the national carrier said the cancellations were made as a precaution to safeguard passengers and crew.

    Cancelled Flights
    • KQ 002 – Nairobi (NBO) to New York (JFK) on February 22, 2026
    • KQ 003 – New York (JFK) to Nairobi (NBO) on February 23, 2026

Kenya Airways apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their patience and understanding.

The airline indicated that it plans to operate KQ 002 on February 24, 2026, and KQ 003 on February 25, 2026, once weather conditions improve and it is safe to resume operations.

“The safety and comfort of our customers and crew remains our highest priority,” the airline said, adding that its teams are closely monitoring the situation and engaging with airport authorities and other stakeholders.

Passengers have been advised to check the airline’s website or mobile app for the latest updates, or contact the Customer Excellence team via phone, WhatsApp, or X (@KQSupport) for assistance.

The cancellations come amid widespread travel disruptions in the United States as winter storms continue to affect air travel across major airports.
