Kenya Power, in partnership with Galaxy Auctioneers, has announced a public auction of various used items, including motor vehicles, motorcycles, plant machinery, tyres, used batteries, spare parts, and oil.

The auction will take place on Thursday, June 26, and Friday, June 27, 2025, at Kenya Power’s Transport Depot in Ruaraka, near KCA University along Thika Road. The auction will begin at 10:00 a.m. on both days.

Items on sale include SUVs and saloon cars, Toyota Land Cruisers, double and single cabin pickups, a groove crane, a compressor, and a large number of Yamaha and Honda motorcycles.

Also on offer are used vehicle and motorcycle tyre casings, batteries, vehicle spare parts, scrap metal, and used oil.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, June 10, Kenya Power advised interested buyers to visit the auction yard and inspect the items before the sale.

“All items will be sold on an ‘as-is, where-is’ basis. There are no warranties offered by either Kenya Power or the auctioneer,” the company stated.

A detailed catalogue of the auction items is available from Galaxy Auctioneers at the Pangani Auction Centre, located along Murang’a Road opposite Guru Nanak Hospital, Nairobi. The catalogue costs Sh500 and is non-refundable.

Those wishing to participate in the auction must pay a refundable deposit before the auction date.

The deposit is Sh100,000 for up to three vehicles, Sh10,000 for up to three motorcycles and assorted items, or Sh110,000 for a combination of up to three vehicles and three motorcycles.

No bidding will be allowed without a bidding number, and deposits will not be accepted on the day of the auction.

Successful bidders must pay 25% of the purchase amount immediately after winning, at any Kenya Power banking hall, and clear the remaining balance within seven days.

Failure to do so will lead to forfeiture of the deposit, and the items will either be sold to the second highest bidder or put up for auction again.

Buyers will be expected to collect their items within 14 days from the auction date. If not, a storage fee of Sh300 per day will apply. Transfer of ownership will be processed within one month of the auction.
