The Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) has announced vacancies on its board, inviting nominations for new members ahead of the upcoming elections.
In a public notice dated October 21, the board said it is seeking nominations for the election of four veterinary surgeons and three veterinary paraprofessionals to serve on the board. The elections are scheduled to take place on November 4, 2025.
According to the notice, only persons registered by the board and retained in the official registers for the year 2025 will be eligible to participate.
“Only persons who are registered by the Board and duly retained in the registers for the year 2025 (pursuant to Section 20 and 21 of the VSVP Act No. 29 of 2011) and whose names appear in the voters register as approved by the 378th Full Board sitting held on 14th October 2025 shall be eligible to be nominated or to nominate candidates,” the statement reads.
The notice further outlines that candidates must present several clearance documents on nomination day. These include a Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Clearance Certificates from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
Each candidate must be nominated using a separate form, which must be signed by the nominee, proposer, and seconder — all of whom must be eligible voters under the board’s regulations.
The Kenya Veterinary Board is responsible for regulating the training, registration, and licensing of veterinary professionals and paraprofessionals across the country.
