Police in Nairobi are hunting for a woman who was violently assaulting a man in a bid to recover money. The office of the directorate of public prosecutions has called on the public to provide any information in relation to the incidence.

In the video that has since gone viral  the woman violently kicks the man who is evidently drunk. She goes ahead to step on his fingers while senselessly beating him.

Twitter users have called for the arrest of the woman in order to reduce the double standards. People are often quick to react on videos entailing violence againece women but are usually mum about violence towards men.

Here are some of the reactions:

@idabarack just imagine what would have happened if the guy had retaliated… A crowd would have formed in seconds and the aggressor beaten to a pulp… #SMH

This lady must be hunted down, arrested, arraigned in court and charged with attempted murder, this utter idiocy of monumental structure.. The lady must be handled with zeal coz she's dangerous to the public

Alai, I am sure this video won't attract much anger and indignation. To the femisnts, this is all about women empowerment. But violence doesn't change, depending on gender; it's cruel and inhuman.

Barely a week ago a man from Makueni Daudi Nzomo felt the wrath of the internet after a video of him assaulting his wife went viral. He was arrested and arraigned in court for assault. He is currently in custody for the said act.

People have called for equal application of the law for all cases of domestic violence and they have asked the police and the office of the directorate of public prosecution to act expeditiously.

    Here is the video:

War against domestic violence shouldn’t be targeting men only. Women assaulting men should also be arrested and charged. Being biased creates a more rabid group. pic.twitter.com/5GGSv3k4on
