A host of trade unions including Kenya National Union of Teachers, Kenya University Staff Union, Dock Workers Union and University Academic Staff Union have today endorsed Raila as their preferred presidential candidate.

Others who endorsed the NASA candidate are Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) and the Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN).

Raila is facing a stiff competition from President Uhuru who is widely expected to retain his seat.

The union leaders said that it is the Jubilee government which has criminalised trade unions and acted deaf to the problems of workers in the country.

It is not clear what the trade unions will do in case Uhuru is re-elected as it seems highly likely that Uhuru is leading in all fronts.
The agreements were signed as NASA prepared to have its final rally in Mombasa.
