Kenyans on twitter (KOT) are angered that socialites, celebrities and influencers were given precedence to receive the world cup trophy over football legends whose efforts in the sport has put Kenya on the map globally.

According to the KOT football legends like Dennis Oliech, Joe Kadenge and JJ Masiga are available but were not considered in the trip to accompany the trophy from Ethiopia.

They blamed the newly appointed Cs for sports culture and arts Rashid Achesa for failing to honor football legends with that world cup trophy tour.

The ministry of sports in their defense say that the tour was sponsored by a private company Coca cola company and did not have a hand on who would accompany the trophy.

Bloggers like Cyprian Nyakundi and Robert Alai said that this was more of a coca cola company road show rather than an actual world cup trophy tour.

Here are some of the tweets:

While we have the likes of Joe Kadenge, Bonifas Ambani, Denis Oliech Musa Otieno, harambee starlets etc, ScanGroup fuckers that planned this only invited socialites that have never stepped in a football pitch. The celebrities that went to receive the trophies included Sports journalist Carol Radull, News Anchor Betty Kyalo and Twitter Big wig Ramzzy among others
