Notorious Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officials are harassing unsuspecting Kenyans and robbing them off their hard earned money by asking for kickbacks.

Kahawa Tungu is in the know about two such ill-famed officials who have for the longest time been extorting business owners of monies running into millions of shillings.

The two; Beth Turi and Chris Kibata audit companies and sometimes individual companies but for a certain percentage.

According to a source privy to the goings-on, the two who are apparently lovers ask for Sh200,000 or more when anomalies are found in the books.

The two are not new to controversy, we understand. Following an expose online, they have since transferred their ill-gotten fortunes in fiduciary to a close relative and lawyer, Wachira Wambugu.

Mr Wambugu is the uncle to Kibata’s wife, Waithera who we understand runs the family businesses including restaurants.

She is also the daughter to a well-known military personnel.

Ms Turi on the other hand, we have learnt left her husband, Chris Kimani, with the help of her lover, Kibata.

Kibata picked his alleged girlfriend from her matrimonial home in Kileleshwa as he threatened the guards. He was also in the company of two escort police officers.

In fact, the source said, Kibata’s way of getting things done is by threatening those around him. He apparently walks around brandishing a gun.

It is alleged that sometimes he hold guns to peoples heads as means of getting them to pay the kickbacks.

“Can we get tax professionals to audit our books so that we pay the right taxes without corruption? Why are this two still in office after an expose last year,” our source complained.

The source who sought anonymity due the sensitive nature of the matter now wants the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and their employer to look into the two who have apparently set up rental apartments in Thindigua, Kiambu County.
