Lamu West MP Candidate Beats Down Returning Officer (Video)

There was chaos at the Lamu West tallying centre after ODM parliamentary candidate Rishad Hamid Ahmed beat down the Returning Officer, Abdalla Chikophe accusing him of rigging him out.

Rishad claimed that the R.O doctored the results in favour of the Maendeleo Chap Chap candidate, Stanley Muiruri Muthama.

Rishad garnered 10,950 votes against Muthama’s 11,950 votes. In his defence, Rishad claimed that votes from areas he considered his strongholds had not yet been tallied at the time of the announcement.

”I swear to you that the winner can not be announced at this moment. We have our right to be told exact things and not cooked things. We have cross checked and found that there are so many mistakes in the forms.”

The RO did however declare Muthama the winner after a distraught Rishad left.
