Allan Wadi Okong’o who was recently arrested while crossing or in Uganda was apparently presented to court, convicted and jailed for two years without a fine for “undermining the authority of President Uhuru.”
According to police sources, Allan was psychologically tortured and bullied into admitting the offence with a promise that he would only get a light sentence for the offence but he was surprised when the final verdict was delivered in the case.
According to the charge sheet which quoted Section 13 (a), (b) and 2 of the National Cohesion Act, the charge sheet read as in the picture below. The charges and manner of his conviction presents various questions.
Allan was jailed by one Anne Waguru who is a resident magistrate at the Milimani Law Courts. Only State House allied bloggers had access to the case. Allan’s case was not listed at Milimani Law Courts.

Since independence in 1963, this is the first time we love prosecutions upon prosecutions of people “undermining the authority of the president” – i dont know what this really means, though am left wondering why of all our presidents, the authority of this particular one has to be guarded by jail terms to critics !

So sad, we are heading to diffuculty times is there an option of appeal? Why was he not represented by an advocate?
in the same breathe, why insult someone else on social media? I read the things he posted on FB and they were jus sick.
Making threats against the president’s life is a crime, regardless of whether it’s done on paper or on Twitter.
That’s the lesson from the case of Donte Jamar Sims, a 22-year-old man
who was sentenced Wednesday to six months of prison for threatening
President Barack Obama in a series of tweets.
He is over 18 next time he should watch out what comes out of his mouth and phone. What he did was stupid. As they say…. asiyefunzwa na mamake atafunzwa na ulimwengu. Let him stay put in that mens store and ripen behind his ears.
