    List of Police stations burnt during the June 25 protests

    At least eight police stations were burned down and vandalized during Wednesday’s June 25 protests in separate incidents.

    Police said at least five guns were stolen during the chaos at the Dagoretti police post in Kiambu County.

    Among the affected were Dagoretti police post, Juja police station, Villa post police station, Molo police station, Ongata Rongai police station, Matuu police station, Mai Mahiu police station and Ol kalou police station

    Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen said what unfolded in parts of the country was terrorism disguised as dissent.

    He also promised action on the planners and executors.

    “There was no peaceful demonstration, it was riots, chaos and anarchy,” he said.

    “This was not just violence. It was an orchestrated campaign of terror, an assault on our people, our Constitution, our institutions, our values, and the very soul of this Republic.”

    He added what was billed as a peaceful protest was, in truth, a calculated disguise, a coordinated descent into chaos masked as civic expression.

    Beneath the banner of democratic rights, we witnessed a well-orchestrated campaign of political violence.

    Among others Khetias Supermarket Naivasha, Powerstar supermarket Naivasha, Naivas Mall Kayole, (Naivasha Safari Center Naivasha), Naivas Supermarket Nyeri Town, Businesses along Ngara, Githurai 45 Co-operative bank, OTC area, Shops , Supermarket (quickmart) and hotels, Imenti House, Thika Mithoo House, Anana’s Thika, Maathai Supermarket- Nyeri Town and stalls along Bus Station were looted.

    Also affected were Maathai Supermarket- Karatina Town, KRA offices in Embu Town – Stolen computers and chairs, electronic shops in Embu town, Chieni Supermarket – Nyeri, Total Petrol Station – Nakuru City, building near Koja stage Nairobi, Kikuyu – Law Courts (Set on fire, registries vandalised and files stolen) and Ol Kalou, Nyandarua – Assist County Commissioner office set on fire.

    A police vehicle was set on fire in Huruma Estate, Eldoret town while shops and stalls looted along Mfangano Street in Nairobi CBD completely robbed of all goods.

    In Matuu, Machakos – Hotel owned by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse was vandalised while a Bata Shop along the Outer Ring road in Embakasi Pipeline was broken into and goods stolen.

    Nanyuki Bata shop near Best Lady opposite Kanu Ground was also affected.

    Looting Attempts that were thwarted at Khetias Supermarket along Eldoret-Bungoma Highway while Baniyas Square, a club in Eldoret that had been looted during last year’s protests.
