The widow of former minister Arthur Magugu failed to appear in court for the second time in a case she has been accused of giving false information to a public officer.

This followed a thorough investigations by detectives and subsequent advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) who directed that Margaret Wairimu Magugu be charged with the offence of giving false information to a person employed in the public service.

The charges stem from an ongoing investigation being conducted by detectives from the Land Fraud Investigation Unit (LFIU), in which she is the complainant against Karura Investment Ltd.

She is accused of knowingly providing false information to investigators in an attempt to mislead the inquiry and wrongfully implicate the suspect.

The matter was mentioned Tuesday before the Milimani Law Courts for plea-taking. However, she failed to appear in court and was represented by her advocates, who informed the court that she had fallen ill earlier in the day and was therefore unable to attend.

The court adjourned the matter and set January 13, 2026, as the date for plea-taking, marking it as the final adjournment. Meanwhile, detectives from the Special Crime Unit (SCU) arraigned Boniface Mulinge Muteti before the Milimani Law Courts, facing charges for disseminating false information on his X account.

On December 6, 2025, Muteti, under the username Mulinge Muteti, made a provocative post to wit, “if you come across anything owned by politicians, Anza kuchukua, these people have never worked anywhere, innovated or invented anything. Everything they own was stolen from Kenyans and must be returned to Kenyans. Arm yourselves and prepare for the coming uprising”, knowing it to be false and intending to incite violence among the public, in direct violation of Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act No. 5 of 2018.

During his appearance in court, Muteti pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and was granted bail set at Sh15,000.

The case is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on December 30, 2025.

And Kisauni Sub-County detectives arrested Omar Tinga, aka Songa, a notorious criminal long linked to a string of violent robberies in Kiembeni.

The arrest followed credible intelligence from members of the public, which led detectives straight to his hideout in Bombo Village, where he was cornered and apprehended.

Tinga is feared for his ruthless attacks on victims, leaving a trail of terror in his wake.
    He was detained pending arraignment.
