Makini Schools, a member of the ADvTECH Group, has expanded its operations in Kenya through the acquisition of Regis Runda Academy.

The school, located in the fast-growing Ridgeways area northeast of Nairobi, will be rebranded as Makini School Runda.

It currently has a capacity of 2,000 learners, with ADvTECH set to officially take over operations on August 20, 2025.

“We are pleased to welcome the Regis staff, students, and parents to Makini Schools,” said Horace Mpanza, Regional Managing Director at Makini Schools. “We plan to build on the strong foundations the founders of Regis have laid and our intention is to take the school to the next phase of its development.”

The ADvTECH Group has announced plans to invest in AI-powered digital learning tools and significantly improve the sporting facilities at the site, aimed at enhancing student experience and academic performance.

“We are delighted to increase our Makini Schools footprint in Kenya and to bring the brand’s compelling proposition to parents and students in one of the fastest developing regions of Nairobi,” said ADvTECH Group CEO, Geoff Whyte.

The move follows ADvTECH’s acquisition of Flipper International School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in November 2024, and the June 2025 launch of Rosebank International University College in Accra, Ghana—moves the group says underscore its commitment to delivering premium private education across Africa.
Makini Schools currently operates four campuses: Ngong Road, State House Avenue, Migosi, and Kisumu City.

ADvTECH’s Schools Division includes ten brands with 119 schools across Africa, among them Gaborone International School in Botswana, The Makini Group of Schools and Crawford International School in Kenya, and Flipper International School in Ethiopia.
