A man has been charged with murdering an opponent during the Starehe parliamentary seat Jubilee nominations that took place in the month of May.
The assailant who has been identified as Daniel Kuria Ngarui, attacked and killed George Ndege as he pasted Maina Kamanda’s posters along Juja road.
In an affidavit sworn by investigating officer Sergeant Charles Mabonga based at the DCI in Starehe said the suspect and his colleagues were armed with pangas and knives and attacked Ndege and seriously injured him in the chest and lower jaw.
Daniel was apparently a supporter of Pangani Ward MCA, Peter Wahinya.
Ndege was pronounced dead on arrival at the Radiant Hospital, Pangani.
Mr Ngarui has however denied the charges and will remain in custody until the 18th of July when the case will be heard.

The Starehe parliamentary seat was during the Jubilee party nominations was hotly contested with the incumbent, Maina Kamanda beaten by Charles Njagua.
The race will in the August poll be between Jubilee’s Jaguar, Ukweli Party’s Boniface Mwangi and ODM’s Steve Mbogo.
