A 57-year-old man died while receiving treatment following an alleged assault by his wife and son in Sensi Location in Marani Sub-County, Kisii County.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Douglas Nyangena Tai, succumbed to injuries at Ram Hospital in Kisii Town after several days of hospitalization.

The incident was reported by the deceased’s sister, who informed police that her brother had been assaulted at his home on the night of June 15, 2026.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the assault was allegedly carried out by his wife and one of their sons, whose identity is yet to be established.

Police visited both the hospital and the scene of the incident.

Upon examining the body, investigators noted visible injuries on the deceased’s lower limbs.

Police established that after the alleged assault, the suspects reportedly took the injured man to Ram Hospital on June 20, where he was admitted and treated until his death three days later.

Investigators later visited the suspects’ residence in Sensi Location but found that the suspects had fled after learning of the victim’s death.

The body was photographed and preserved at the hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police have launched investigations and are pursuing the two suspects.

And police in Matete Sub-County, Kakamega County, are investigating the murder of a 28-year-old man who was fatally stabbed during a confrontation at Munialo village on Monday night.

According to police, the victim, identified as Timothy Shioto Wafula, was allegedly stabbed during a fight involving individuals known to him.

The motive behind the altercation has not yet been established.

Police visited the scene and found the victim lying dead.

A preliminary examination revealed that the deceased had sustained a deep stab wound to the chest, believed to have caused his death.

The scene was processed and documented by investigators before the body was removed to Village of Hope Mortuary in Musembe, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Police have launched investigations to establish the circumstances that led to the fatal stabbing and to identify and apprehend those responsible.
