A 25-year-old man was stabbed and killed in a targeted attack in the Kariobangi area, Nairobi.
Police said Samson Wesonga was walking from his place of work on Saturday January 31, 2025 when he was accosted by two men riding on a motorcycle and stabbed in the shoulder.
The deceased worked at a local bakery. The assailant is said to have alighted from a motorcycle before confronting him briefly and later stabbed him. He jumped onto a waiting motorcycle and rode off, police and witnesses said.
Wesonga was rushed to a nearby chemist for attention in vain as he had bled to death.
Police visited the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Elsewhere in Kihara, Kiambu County, one Geoffrey Oganje, 55 died in his house after he had been assaulted by people known to him.
He was assaulted on January 29 in the area and sought medical attention at a local clinic, police said.he later went home to recover. He died in his house. His body was found in his house with visible injuries in the head. Police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
No arrests had been made by Sunday morning amid a hunt on the said assailants.
In Kinangop, Nyandarua County, the body of a woman who was earlier reported missing was found in a shallow grave.
The body was identified as that of Nancy Nderitu, 48. She had been reported missing on January 22.
Her body was found buried in a shallow grave in her compound after a suspected murder. It had decomposed when it was discovered on January 31, 2026, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
Such murder incidents have been on the rise in the area with most of them linked to love triangles, money, deals and land disputes. Police say the incidents are under probe.
