Police are investigating murder in an incident where the body of a man was found on the roadside along the Kisii-Oyugis highway, Homa Bay County.

The man seemed to have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene when it was discovered on October 6, 2025 at Kidi Kokech area, police said.

Police said the body had stab wounds in the head and bruises on his body. The man did not have identification documents when the body was discovered, police said as they moved it to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

Elsewhere in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, a man was found murdered and his body abandoned on a footpath.

Police said the body was found lying on a footpath next to Itangi ACK Church on Monday.

The body had visible physical injuries on the face.

On keen scrutiny of the scene, there was no blood seen where the body was lying and no signs of struggle, which suggested that the person might have been killed elsewhere and the body brought to the scene, police said

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures, police added.

In Ndefo, Njoro, Nakuru County, a 40-year-old man was found dead after being shot by a poisonous arrow in an attack in his house.

Police identified the man as Anthony Njogu. His body was found in his house in the Kihingo area long after he had been killed by unknown assailants.

According to the police, assailants raided the home prompting locals to raise an alarm. The gang had demolished part of a wall of the house where Njogu was when they attacked him with an arrow, killing him on the spot.

The attackers escaped soon after the incident, police said. The body was picked up to the mortuary pending an autopsy and hunt for the assailants.
