Detectives in Kuria West Sub-County, Migori County, launched investigations into the murder of a 35-year-old man whose body was found by the roadside in Nyabokarange area.

Police said the incident was reported by Wilson Mwita Chacha alongside a village elder after the body was discovered earlier.

Police identified the deceased as Stephen Chacha Matiko, a farmer from Naora Village.

The body was found lying on the left side of the road along the Nyabokarange–Mwengezeko murram road.
Preliminary observations revealed a stab wound on the left side of the chest, with blood oozing from the mouth, indicating a violent attack.

The motive behind the killing and the identity of the assailant(s) remain unknown.

The body was moved to Kehancha Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
Elsewhere, police in Likoni Sub-County, Mombasa County, launched investigations following the discovery of the body of an unidentified woman at an abandoned building near Losa Joy Primary School.

The woman aged about 35 years is suspected to be pregnant and lay in a heap of garbage at an unfinished structure.

Preliminary examination revealed that the body had visible bruises on the face and swelling on the right ear, injuries believed to have been inflicted using a blunt object.

Investigators suspect that the woman may have been killed elsewhere and her body dumped at the location.

Police said the body was moved to Coast General Hospital mortuary, where it awaits identification and a postmortem examination.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information that could help identify the deceased or assist in the investigation to come forward.
