A 69-year-old man died after being hit by a stone in a fight with a 19-year-old man in Kikonge village in Migori County.

The deceased was identified as Benson Ogutu. He was in the company of his wife when they met a 19-year-old man known to them on the Godkwer-Kikonge road, where an argument arose.

The suspect picked up a stone and hit the man on the forehead, flooring him.

He was rushed to Migori County Referral Hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries.

The body was moved to the hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

The assailant escaped the scene after the May 10 incident and efforts to arrest him are ongoing.

In Ngarua, Laikipia County, a fire killed a 60-year-old man in a tragedy.

The fire broke out on May 11 in Kinamba Trading Centre and affected timber-made structures.

Nothing was salvaged, and after a thorough scrutiny, the body of Letangila Nendiye alias Wamaria, was found burnt beyond recognition.

The body was retrieved and moved to the mortuary, awaiting postmortem. The cause of the fire not yet known, police said.

Meanwhile, in Kabujoi, Nandi County, a man was stoned to death after being accused of stealing. The suspect was found stealing from a shop in Maraba area prompting locals to stone him to death on May 11 at about 10 am.

The body was later moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Police discourage mob lynching and term it illegal and criminal.

And police arrested a man who stabbed and seriously injured his wife over claims of infidelity in Limuru, Kiambu County.

The woman was found bleeding and on the roadside after she had been attacked by the man who had trailed her to an apartment in the area.

She had a stab wound in the neck, which is suspected to have been inflicted by her husband.

The woman told police the man trailed her to the apartment and accused her of having an affair with another man before he stabbed her in the neck.
