A 38-year-old man was found dead in a house belonging to a woman in a love triangle confrontation in Savane area, Kakamega County.

The body of Felix Chumba was found in the house long after he had been killed.

He had deep cuts in the head and right hand and the body lay in a pool of blood after the September 24, 2025 incident.

According to police, the deceased had visited the house of a woman believed to be his girlfriend on Wednesday night when the incident happened.

It was as he was in the house that the assailant who is also a boyfriend to the woman showed up.

This prompted a fight that turned fatal, police said.

The man was hacked and fatally wounded in the head. The assailant and the woman fled the scene after learning he had died.

Police were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations. The hunt on the two suspects is ongoing, police said.

Elsewhere in Eshilakwe, Makunga, Kakamega County, a mob attacked and burnt down a house belonging to a murder suspect in a rage.

The suspect was accused of killing one Oliver Makokha who succumbed to his injuries after an assault, police said.

A mob gathered in the area on September 24, 2025 and set his house together with that of his brother.

The suspect was not at home at the time of the incident, police said adding they are investigating both murder and arson in the saga.

Police said they will enhance patrols in the area ahead of the planned burial event amid fears of more attacks as part of the revenge.

Mob lynching incidents have been on the rise in various places in the country amid efforts to address the menace.

Police want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and possible prosecution.
