A man attacked and killed his brother in a domestic fight in Bonyunyu village, Nyamira County.
The body of George Momanyi, 54 was found lying in a pool of blood in a banana plantation minutes after his murder on Saturday dawn.
He had earlier on picked up a quarrel with his brother over unknown reasons before it went physical.
The assailant, who is a younger brother, chased the deceased into a banana plantation where he hit him fatally.
A relative said he saw the assailant walk back to his house holding a piece of bloody wood and knew something was wrong.
By then, Momanyi was no where to be seen and was not responding to calls. A search was mounted and the body was found lying about 200 meters away.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. The assailant was arrested for murder, police said.
In Homa Bay, a girl aged eight drowned in a river near Kogelo-Kalanya area. The body of the girl was found floating on the river long after the drowning, police said.
