A man was found dead in his house after a fatal attack in Kiengu, Meru County.
Police said Mugambi Mauta, 32 was hacked to death in his house by a known suspect.
The suspect robbed four goats from the compound and escaped.
The body of the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood with deep cuts in the head and moved to the mortuary, police said.
Elsewhere in Kehancha, Migori County, a man was stabbed to death in an argument over Sh2,000.
Police said a disagreement arose between two known people before one David Mogaya, 30 was fatally stabbed.
He had stab wounds in the head and neck, police said. The assailant escaped the scene soon after the murder.
The deceased was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said of the March 28 incident.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures as police pursue the suspect in the murder.
Meanwhile, a woman was rescued in Malava Forst in Kakamega County after she had been abducted from Dago area, Kisumu County.
The woman was found partially unconscious in the forest where she had been abandoned by her abductors.
She was rushed to the hospital for medical attention, police said.
No arrest was made after the rescue of the woman but police said they were pursuing good leads on the suspects and their motives.
And police arrested two suspects linked to the murder of an elderly couple in Salagaa, Nakuru County.
The couple was found murdered last year in November in their home, police said, identifying them as Joseph Ndegwa, 90 and his wife Betrosa Githiri, 63.
The two suspects were arrested on Saturday, four months after the murder. Police said they were trailed and arrested in the Rongai area and will face murder charges.
The motive of the murder is yet to be revealed.
