Detectives are investigating a bizarre incident where a man was sent three human fingers tied with six live bullets in Eldoret Town.

The receiver said he had been called by an unknown man who informed him he had his parcel and sent a rider to deliver the same to him.

Police said one Reuben Kiptisia Kiptui was in a bar when a rider delivered the parcel in an envelope and on opening it he found it with three human fingers and the bullets.

He called police who visited the scene and established that the parcel contained the three human fingers-one forefinger, one ring finger, and one little finger all from a left hand, four live ammunitions of calibre 7.62mm ordinary and two live ammunitions of calibre 9mm.

There was no written message in the envelope. The fingers were taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary pending verification while the bullets were sent for ballistic tests.

The sender is yet to be traced, police said. Police said they are investigating the incident.

Police said they are yet to establish the motive of the incident. They also want to establish the owner of the fingers. This indicates a person was killed or had his or her fingers chopped off. Police said they had taken the fingerprints of the fingers for further verification.

Meanwhile, police in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County are investigating an incident in which a passenger was found dead in a matatu.
