Mandera County gubernatorial loser Hassan Noor has filed a petition contesting Ali Roba’s win.
He stated that in most polling centers his agents were chased away and even beaten to a point where they needed medical attention.
He is the first governor to file a petition after Raila Odinga’s successful petition at the Supreme court.
The Mandera Governor seat was a hotly contested seat with it being a two horse race.
The candidates’ supporters often clashed during rallies as both leaders were in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s bid.

Peter Munya who has since joined NASA has also stated that he will also be contesting the Meru governor seat in the course of the week.
He spoke while offering his support to NASA leader, Raila Odinga in his presidential bid after the nullified presidential elections.
Hassan Noor garnered 63003 votes against the Governor’s 72985 votes.
