    Marcus Lars Johansson is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the Minnesota Wild in the National Hockey League (NHL).

    Born on October 6, 1990, in Landskrona, Sweden, he stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 203 pounds.

    He shoots left and is known for his hockey sense, technical skills, soft hands, and playmaking ability.

    Fans often refer to him by the nicknames “Mackan” or “MoJo.”

    Career

    Johansson began his professional journey in Sweden with Färjestad BK in the SHL, where he contributed to the team’s Swedish championship in the 2008–09 season.

    He was selected by the Washington Capitals in the first round, 24th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut with the Capitals in the 2010–11 season.

    He spent several productive years in Washington, developing into a reliable middle-six forward known for his consistency and two-way play.

    His tenure there included a career-high 24-goal, 58-point season in 2016–17.

    Over the course of his NHL career, Johansson has played for multiple teams, including the New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Seattle Kraken, and a return stint with the Washington Capitals before joining the Minnesota Wild.

    He reached the milestone of 1,000 NHL games in November 2025 while with the Wild, an achievement celebrated with emotional family moments involving his daughters.

    As of the 2025–26 season, he has accumulated over 1,058 games played, with 200 goals and 366 assists for 566 career points.

    He has also represented Sweden internationally, earning medals at World Championships and an Olympic silver medal in 2014.

    Johansson was part of Färjestad BK’s SHL championship team in 2008–09.

    On the international stage, he won silver at the 2014 Winter Olympics with Sweden and secured medals at the IIHF World Championships, including silver in 2009 and bronze in 2010.

    In the NHL, he has been valued for his playoff experience and versatility, contributing to deep postseason runs, most notably with the Capitals.

    Reaching 1,000 games played stands as a significant career milestone, highlighting his longevity and durability in a demanding league.
