    Max Domi is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.

    Born on March 2, 1995, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he stands at 5 feet 10 inches and weighs around 208 pounds.

    The son of former NHL enforcer Tie Domi, Max has built his own reputation as a skilled, energetic playmaker and agitator known for his speed, vision, and competitive edge.

    Drafted 12th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, he made his NHL debut in 2015 and has since become a versatile contributor across multiple teams, including a strong tenure with his hometown Maple Leafs.

    Max grew up in Toronto primarily with his mother, Leanne Domi, following his parents’ separation in 2006.

    He has two sisters, namely Carlin and Avery Rose.

    Carlin attended the University of Western Ontario, while Avery has been active in philanthropic efforts, including fundraising for animals affected by wildfires.

    Career

    Domi’s hockey journey began in Toronto youth programs before he excelled in the Ontario Hockey League with the London Knights, where he helped secure back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013 and later served as team captain.

    After being selected by the Coyotes, he made an immediate impact in the NHL, finishing third in rookie scoring with 52 points in 81 games during the 2015-16 season.

    His career has featured several stops due to trades and free agency: he played for the Arizona Coyotes until 2018, then joined the Montreal Canadiens, Columbus Blue Jackets, Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, and Dallas Stars before signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

    In Toronto, Domi has thrived in a familiar environment, contributing as a top-six forward with strong playmaking abilities.

    He signed a four-year, $15 million contract extension with the Maple Leafs in 2024, securing his role through the 2027-28 season with an average annual value of $3.75 million.

    Known for his energy and ability to produce in key moments, he has adapted well to various linemates and coaching systems throughout his career.

    Accolades

    In the OHL, Domi was named to the Third All-Star Team in 2013-14 and the First All-Star Team in 2014-15, while also receiving the Mickey Renaud Captains Trophy for commitment and leadership.

    Internationally, he won gold at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament with Team Canada and a bronze medal at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge with Team Ontario.

    In the NHL, his standout rookie season with Arizona highlighted his offensive potential, and he has consistently posted solid point totals across teams.

    With the Maple Leafs, he has delivered reliable production, including a 47-point season that helped lead to his contract extension.
