Police in Kiambaa Sub-County, Kiambu County, are investigating the death of a 33-year-old mechanic whose body was discovered inside a sewage line in the Banana-Victoria area.

According to police, the incident was reported on Friday morning after the deceased’s father informed authorities that his son, Antony Gitema Kuria, had been found lying dead in a sewage trench.

Police officers visited the scene and found the lifeless body of the deceased inside the sewage line.

Preliminary investigations established that Antony worked as a mechanic within the Banana-Victoria area and had last been seen on Thursday morning heading to work.

Crime scene investigators from Kiambu processed the scene before the body, which had visible head injuries, was moved to Karura SDA Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Meanwhile, a 71-year-old man was arrested in connection with the mysterious death of his wife in Chepkoiyo area, Turbo Sub-County, Uasin Gishu County.

According to police, the incident happened on Friday night at around 10:30 pm after the body had been found dead inside her house.

Police officers who visited the scene found the lifeless body of 69-year-old Susan Jelimo Kemboi lying on the floor inside the house.

Detectives noted blood stains under the bed and on the floor opposite the bed, although the body reportedly had no visible injuries.

Her husband was arrested and is being held for interrogation as investigations continue.

Police said the arrest was also meant to guarantee his safety as inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death progressed.

According to police, the body of the child, aged one year and six months, was found within the compound of a local resident, Joseph Maiyo.
His 17-year-old mother had reportedly returned home on May 6, 2026 after allegedly being away for three years.
