Ex-Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has announced his retirement from international football, putting and end to his 12 years of service with Ghana.
The defensive midfielder last played for the Black Stars in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Essien, 35, is currently without a club but has been busy acquiring his coaching budges and getting involved with Chelsea foundation in Asia.
