Migori man fatally stabs self after death of daughter

A man was found dead with stab wounds he inflicted on himself in a suspected suicide mission in Suna, Migori County.
The incident happened after the man’s one and half-year-old daughter died in hospital following a disciplinary attempt that went bad.
The body of Kennedy Omondi Ouru, 27 was found lying in a house with stab wounds in the left ribs.
This was Sunday evening long after his daughter had died.
Police concluded the stab wounds were self inflicted and in suicide mission.
The body lay in a house in Kamagambo A village on December 7 with a knife loosely held on the man’s right hand.
He had fled from his home after his daughter that he was disciplining died in hospital. He had disciplined the girl in their house when she fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
Police believe after he learned of the incident, the father decided to die by suicide.
Both bodies were moved to the local mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Elsewhere, police are investigating an incident where a body of a man was found in Mradi area, Sunton, Kasarani in Nairobi. The body had a deep cut on the forehead which was not fresh. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, identification and other investigations.
In Kiambu town, police said they are investigating an incident where a 14-year-old girl was found dead in a house in Muandus area.
The girl found lying on the floor with blood oozing from the mouth and nose.
She was rushed to the hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.
It was established that the body had head injuries, a swelling on the forehead and depressed wound on the back head.
The body was moved to the same hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
Police said they are investigating murder in the saga.
In Nyeri’s Chinga area a woman aged 41 was found dead after an altercation with a man.
The incident happened in Mucharage area and left one Emily Wanjiru Wachera dead.
A neighbour told police he heard screams emanating from their homestead the woman’s compound where she was being assaulted by a man.
He went to inquire and found the suspect brandishing a panga menacingly with the deceased writhing on the ground in pain.
The man escaped the scene.
The body of the deceased was lying outside the homestead and had a deep wound on the left side of the face.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
The hunt on the assailant is ongoing, police said on Monday.
In Mai Mahiu, one Nganga Wambu was found dead in his rented house after an attack.
His body was found lying on the floor with blood oozing from the side of the neck, police said.
He had fought with a middle aged woman who is believed to have stabbed him in an altercation.
The woman escaped the scene after the murder. Police said they were searching for the woman for grilling and other procedures while the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy after the Sunday night murder.
Murder cases have been on the rise amid efforts to solve them. Police say up to eight murder cases are reported daily in the country.
