MIH Internet Recruits a New Dealfish East Africa Regional Manager

After the acrimonious departure of Moses Kemibaro, MIH’s chief head-hunter, Sharon Horne, went on a shopping spree for his replacement. We learnt of the next occupant of the hot seat some 2 weeks ago but couldn’t publish it because it was still sketchy. I can now authoritatively reveal that the new Dealfish Regional Manager for east Africa will be Peter Ndiangui who is a Kenyan based in Australia.

Peter is currently a management consultant at SMS Management and Technology in Australia. He has previously been associated with Kenya Imagine and Digital Dialogue, the latter being a competitor of Dealfish since Digital Dialogue runs property, jobs and other classified verticals. Digital Dialogue owns My Property Kenya which is a competitor of Dealfish.

I have also learnt that Dealfish might be starting verticals for jobs, autos and properties. The respective verticals might just be the death-knell for the struggling portal. The company has already registered www.whoswho.co.ke which just like the Who’s Who South Africa, will be a career focused portal modelled on the line of LinkedIn. It will be a directory of the Who’s Who in Kenya. I think that it will be such a great thing but it will need other products like Dealfish and Mocality to break-even for it to succeed.

Peter will be assuming his Dealfish position on 8th March. We are being told that he has been offered around US $7,000 for the position though he wanted more than $8,500 for the same. This is a one-year renewable contract position. Peter will be the first Kenyan to run the Dealfish product since Moses Kemibaro is more Tanzanian than Kenyan.

Moses studied in Kenya but never thought of going back. He was barred from representing Kenya at a UN summit in Ethiopia after the organisers realised that his nationality was in question.

We wish Peter all the best but I just hope that nobody will assault me with hired goons for what I have written like they did the last time at iHub. My keyboard is my only weapon. LOL
