Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwera bloggers for allegedly publishing false and defamatory statements linking him to the disappearance of a local school principal.

Through his lawyer, Danstan Omari, the legislator has issued demand letters to George Opunga Tamata, Peter Amunga, and Simon Asievela, accusing them of circulating malicious claims that he orchestrated a road accident involving Simon Isiaho Shange, the principal of Munyuki High School, and was behind his subsequent disappearance.

Shange is missing for days and efforts to trace him are ongoing. His car was found in a bad shape.
In the letters dated between November 7 and 8, Nabwera, has given the three bloggers twelve hours to pull down all posts made on online platforms including Malava Online and Kakamega Post, issue a public apology, and pay Sh20 million in compensation for defamation.

“Our client is unequivocal that the statements by yourself are false, inaccurate, and ill-intended to taint his otherwise shining name and record in the constituency,” the letters read in part.
“Your publications are politically motivated and meant to drag his name into the mud.”

Omari further says that Nabwera was a close friend of the missing principal and has ensured equitable distribution of resources in Lugari Constituency, terming the bloggers’ posts as baseless and malicious.

The controversy stems from a November 3, 2025 road accident along the Eldoret–Malaba Highway, in which the Munyuki High School principal was reportedly involved before his mysterious disappearance.
