    Murilo Benício Ribeiro is a renowned Brazilian actor born on July 13, 1971, in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    He grew up in a family with artistic inclinations, as his father, Mário Ribeiro, and mother, Berenice Benício, raised him alongside his siblings.

    Benício has established himself as a prominent figure in Brazilian entertainment, particularly through his work in telenovelas and films, earning international recognition for his versatile performances.

    He is also a father of two sons: Antônio, born in 1996 with actress Alessandra Negrini, and Pietro, born in 2005 with actress Giovanna Antonelli.

    Benício’s career in entertainment began in the early 1990s, marking his television debut with a recurring role as Fabrício in the telenovela Fera Ferida in 1993.

    He gained early recognition for his performance, which led to more prominent opportunities, including roles in Irmãos Coragem in 1995 and Por Amor in 1997.

    His breakthrough came with the hit telenovela O Clone from 2001 to 2002, where he portrayed multiple characters, Lucas Ferraz, Diogo Ferraz, and Léo, opposite Giovanna Antonelli, achieving massive success both in Brazil and internationally.

    Following this, Benício starred in a series of popular telenovelas, such as Chocolate com Pimenta in 2003 with Mariana Ximenes, América in 2005 alongside Deborah Secco, Pé na Jaca in 2006, A Favorita in 2008, Ti Ti Ti in 2010, Avenida Brasil in 2012, and Geração Brasil in 2014.

    He expanded into miniseries like Amores Roubados in 2014, Nada Será Como Antes in 2016, and Se Eu Fechar Os Olhos Agora in 2018, before appearing in Amor de Mãe in 2019, the remake of Pantanal in 2022, Justiça 2 in 2024, and the upcoming Três Graças in 2025.

    In film, Benício has delivered notable performances in projects like Os Matadores in 1997, Woman on Top in 2000, The Man of the Year in 2003, and O Beijo no Asfalto in 2018, where he also served as director and screenwriter.

    His theater work includes productions such as As Tias do Mauro Rasi in 1996 and Dois na Gangorra in 2003, showcasing his range across mediums.

    Throughout his career, Benício has balanced acting with behind-the-camera roles, including screenwriting for Pérola in 2023 and voice work in films like Epic in 2013 and IF in 2024.

    Early in his journey, he won the Troféu APCA for Male Revelation for his role in Fera Ferida in 1994.

    For his standout performance in O Clone, he earned the Prêmio Arte Qualidade Brasil for Best Telenovela Actor in 2002.

    In 2003, he was honored with Best Actor awards at the Festival de Cinema Latino-Americano de Washington and the Festival de Cinema Brasileiro de Miami for The Man of the Year.

    Benício continued to accumulate accolades, including the Prêmio Minha Novela for Best Actor in A Favorita in 2008, followed by the Troféu Imprensa for Best Actor in 2009.

    His work in Ti Ti Ti in 2010 brought him multiple wins, such as the Prêmio Arte Qualidade Brasil, Prêmio Extra de Televisão, Troféu APCA, and Prêmio Minha Novela for Best Actor.

    In 2013, he received the Troféu Internet for Best Actor, and in 2014, the Prêmio F5 recognized him as Best Actor for Amores Roubados.
